A very high class hotel overlooking the beach on the Copacabana, Caesar Park is the place to go on Saturday lunch time to enjoy one of the finest "Feijoada's" in Rio.
Feijoada is a food invented by the slaves, who used to cook the Farmer’s discarded meats in a big clay bowl with black beans, which, at that time, were used only to feed animals, from slave nourishment it became the most typical Brazilian dish, appreciated all over the country.
I had a few doubts about this food as it is not your typical English cuisine. I decided not to judge it on its content, but
to let my palette decide, needless to say I have eaten it
many times since.
If you have the opportunity please give it a try I am sure you will enjoy. Don't forget to accompany your Feijoada with a "Caipirinha".

Caipirinha is made  of "Cachaça" which is a distilled product derived from sugar cane. Personally I prefer a "Caipiroska" which is basically the same drink although made with Vodka. There are many variants of this drink, but to really enjoy them as they should be, it is essential to drink in the company of good friends.
